OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS OF INTEREST:

BRENT BOELKENS is a member of our church and is living in a group home for challenged adults. The place is called Cosa Willis in Sterling. They have been in quarantine also and will not be allowed to have visits until August 31. Lots of them don’t understand why they can’t go out or see family. We would like to collect some items to make their day brighter. There are 18 men and women in the facility. Suggested items are: sidewalk chalk, paints, large print word searches, puzzles (no more than 300 pieces), colored pencils, pipe cleaners, pop, and snack bags. There is a basket in the consistory room for you to drop off items. Please have these here by July 18 so the items can be delivered.

VOLUNTEERS are needed to deliver meals to 6 residents of Fulton on Friday’s only. The meals will be prepared by Elsie here at church and be ready for you to pick up by 11:15 A.M. If you have further questions, you can contact Elsie.

FEED THE CHILDREN: The United Way has had a poor turnout throughout the county with the grocery bag give away on Wednesday for Feed the Children. On Monday’s we will copartner with the school district’s summer lunch program. We will be taking our grocery bags to the school and give them out from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. We will still be giving out food at the parsonage on Wednesday from 11:30 A.M.-12:30 P.M. A few more volunteers will be needed to fill bags on Monday and transport them to the Jr. High. If you have any questions, please contact Marcia Carter.

A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING has been set for July 19 with Pastor Bob Hoffman. This will be to vote on extending a call to Pastor Chuck Huckaby. Following that meeting the consistory will meet to formalize the decision.

THE CAR SHOW is still on for August 15. If you would like to sponsor the show by either doing a monetary item or possible door prize you can do so. Our sponsorship is down due to the recent closings. Sponsorships are $100, $50 or $25. You can either donate a prize or give money and we will do the shopping for you. Contact Karin for any questions you may have. Thank you for all your help! We are looking forward to the show!

THE FOOD PANTRY ITEMS for July are Spaghetti & Spaghetti Sauce. Please help support the pantry by bringing a donation to church.

OUR CHURCH IS CURRENTLY SAVING pop tabs, plastic bags, egg cartons and greeting cards. There are boxes on the shelf next to the pastor’s office.

SPRING VALLEY REFORMED CHURCH welcomes Higher Power to their outdoor stage tonight at 6:00. Higher Power has been sharing their faith through their music and personal testimonies since 1996. God has been faithful to provide them with everything they needed to build their ministry into what it is today. Higher Power sings gospel, southern gospel, progressive gospel and contemporary music in its concerts. A typical concert will be filled with music, ministry moments, testimonies, and reflection. This group is known for their high energy and humorous, yet touching concerts. Their deepest desire is to show God’s love, grace and forgiveness through the songs God has given them to sing to those who do not know Him, and to encourage those who do know Him to come to a closer relationship with Him. Please join us in the valley for an evening of music and ministry. A free will offering will be taken.

OPEN HOUSE: Unity Christian School will hold an Open House on Saturday, July 18, from 9:00-11:00 A.M. We are the only non-denominational Christian school in the area and would love to show you how we could benefit your family. If a Christ-centered education is something you might want for your children, please join us. For more information, you may call 815-589-3912.
