Pastor EdiePastor Edie Lenz

My family and I (husband Brian, son Caleb) arrived in Fulton in the fall of 2008. Originally I am from Grand Rapids, MI. I spent my first 6 years in ministry serving the Church of the Good News in Chicago, IL. I graduated from Valparaiso University (where I met Brian) in 1999 and from Western Seminary in Holland, MI in 2002. In addition to serving as the Pastor of First Church, I am the chaplain of our Fire/EMS Department in Fulton. This has been a challenging and rewarding addition to my ministry in Fulton.

Besides serving the church and the department; most of my time is spent being mom. My husband Brian has kept his job in Chicagoland where he is a research chemist. Our son is a very energetic kid with a passion for life. Together we are involved in Tae Kwon Do and Cub Scouts. For Caleb all of life is an adventure and I love being on it with him. One of my passions is not just living in a community but actually being a part of it. It has been a real blessing to be able to engage in our community in so many different ways.

It is so clear to me that God has placed my family and I here for a multitude of reasons. Time with First has been full of rich opportunity and challenge. We are at a crossroads in our life together as a church, seeking ways to honor who we have been and our almost 150 year history while also looking forward into the future. It is an exciting time to be a part of this community of believers; as we seek together the leading of the Holy Spirit.

I have lived in the Fulton area all of my life and have worked for the church for the past 16 years. I married my husband Brian in 1998 and we live in the country. I enjoy working with my husband on projects around the house, spending time with friends and reading.
